Burner (DPF-BU)

A fuel burner will be used to regenerate the filter when the machine has stopped operating. Air from a small pump is heated to >600C and blown through the filter to remove the carbon.

These systems use diesel fuel from the tank and on-board voltage. The regeneration units are mounted on the machine.

The regeneration follows a programme, which takes up to 25 minutes.

Advantage: there is no restriction on operating temperature or fuel types and is independent of electrical power lines.

Condition: requires active regeneration when particulate filter is full as indicated by the filter monitor.
